Wine Tasting Notes
Julia Hill 2018 Coonawarra Shiraz - 12x750ml
Vintage 2018 was a crackjack in terms of slow, steady ripening with sufficient sunlight and warm autumn dys to maximisze the potentila of the moderately cropping vines. A portion of the very best fruit was reserved for new French and American oak barrels. It was harvested a week later than normal as to gain a little more colour and sugar.
Colour: Deep, earthy red with purple and plum coloured hues.
Nose: Toasty, spicy, cherry plum. chocolate with a hint of mint.
Palate: Velvety, ripe fresh cherry fruit flovours with a lingering astringency - from firm supple grape and oak tannins.
Still a youthful wine that will develop into a bigger, richer, complex individual as time goes on. Should peak at around 2023.
